Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch
World Cities 2012
6 June – 9 July 2012

Bookings: http://www.sadlerswells.com/show/Pina-Bausch-World-Cities-2012

In 1986, Pina Bausch embarked on a landmark series of international co-productions, created at the invitation of specific global cities. The premise was simple; her company would spend a period of time as guests in each city – be it Rome, Budapest, Hong Kong, Palermo or Santiago – and breathe in its unique atmosphere and way of life. The company would then return to Wuppertal to create a new work inspired by their visit, a choreographic travelogue deeply informed by its host location.

The World Cities season brings 10 of these works to Sadler's Wells and the Barbican to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic year's global focus as part of the London 2012 Festival.
